Yoga begins, now that we have stepped off the mat. And that’s why yoga never ends.

You will never have this experience again. And, you will never be able to describe it.

Clik here to view. She could have been talking about this training and our week together. And she would be totally right.
I came in with the expectation that it would be good and that I would learn a lot. But I had no idea how good or how much I would learn.
She could have been talking about asana. How when you “get it” in a pose, that AHA moment, when the pose ceases to be a struggle and when you find that your legs have wings…you’ll never experience that feeling in that way again.
And you will try and try again and again to describe it and fail miserably. Because words just can’t give the moment, the revelation, justice.
She could have been talking about spending the week with the most beautiful, talented, REAL women I have ever encountered. How do you describe the connections you made or the way that you feel so totally uplifted?
She could have been talking about Yoga Sutra 1.1, “And now yoga begins.”
Because it begins now. Now that we have left the beauty of Hawaii. Now that we have left the camaraderie of other teachers. Now that we have stepped off the mat.
Now that we are stepping onto a packed plane.
However, I prefer my own translation of that Sutra:
Yoga never ends.
