The hard part is realizing what you want help with. How do you know what you don’t know?

Cora’s theme this week has been, “I’m the waiter. Tell me what you want and I’ll bring it to you.”
Something for everyone.
So, the hard part is realizing what you want help with. How do you know what you don’t know? Especially me, as a very new teacher.
How do I pick my entree?
I was thinking about my students back home… eagerly waiting my return (this is my daydream). What do they need? How can I help them the most?
Um… waiter, I have a lot of questions about this menu.
However, I think I’d like to start with an appetizer. A little taste of what it is like to be an experienced teacher.
I want to learn how to read bodies
To intuitively know what I need to do to make the most impact on a student. Not just their practice but their life off the mat.
Isn’t that the remarkable part of the practice? It starts with playing on the mat and can lead to such joy in every day life.
I know that I can’t learn intuition. But I can see it. And I can be exposed to more and more bodies and students.
Today I ordered up a little bit of down dog and adjustments. We made adjustments on each other and came up with solutions to quirky little things that could lead to big ouchies.
How do I create more space for my students? It can start in downward dog with a simple shift of the hands.
Session today was AH-mazing. It will take me years and years to learn to read bodies like Cora. But, I got a taste of it today.
Oh, what to choose for the first course…
– from Cora today, “everything after ‘should’ seems like an act of violence to me.”
